Thank you for having me!! <3 I love the Canva and I fear I am not going to be able to think about anything else for the rest of the day except that KISS between Leighton and Adam wtf... that'll be rent free in my head for days.
PS - “Come the fuck on, Bridget” from Pandora Sykes, for somehow making me excited for the new Bridget Jones movie despite not having given a single thought to Bridget Jones since approximately 2007' - is a brilliant line and made me laugh.
I co-sign this comment. The Canva is collage-ing in the best of ways, so happy it has returned. And I am SPELLBOUND by that kiss. The passion, the tenderness, the sweetness. Gaaaah! <3 <3
Well I am fangirling a lot over here, Clara. Thank you for including me in such esteemed company in your round up. The fates must have set this up because I literally have a recent Note of yours embedded in my essay going out tomorrow.
so happy to see this chu love for the pamela paul piece. it cracked me up that so many of the comments were reducing it to bullying. bullying?! baby this is high art
Yes, come visit Latvia! But I strongly advise you come in the late spring or summer. It’s very drab and wet right now. And see more than just Riga. Cēsis and Kuldīga are charming towns with lots of well-preserved old architecture.
Ok, first of all, thank you for the shout out! I really appreciate it! Second of all, omg that Adam Brody/Leighton Meester kiss??? And finally, ALC on Pamela Paul is my favorite thing I read last week, it made me so happy that I read it aloud to my partner so we could cackle at all the takedowns together.
I adored everything about this post and am particularly thrilled to see you also love Tom Cox’s writing. Excited to dive into your recommendations, particularly the Substacks!
I had the EXACT SAME reaction to reading "Come the fuck on, Bridget." It made me want to actually watch the whole of the Bridget canon, which I have completely avoided because I loved the book and the first movie so much. I first experienced them in high school and they were FORMATIVE.
I missed the OC *gasp* but I've always liked Brody since he pulled Leighton. Will also say after watching Nobody Wants This I get it! (Still not sure I'd recommend the show though), thank you Clara and Hollywood Reporter for sharing that kiss with the world.
And Martha I am so glad you loved Brotherless Night! It was a favorite read of mine when it came out and I still think about it. VV Ganestham deserves everything 💗

I truly need someone to put together a shopping guide for how I can dress like Monica Barbaro as Joan Baez. The looks! Incredible!

What are the odds, Clara and Tom Cox are the only two writers I follow!
